Benagalbon was founded by Arabs many centuries ago. They perfected new agricultural techniques for the cultivation of different crops there and converted the vineyards especially into an important source of wealth. Consequently the town prospered considerably until the final years of the re-conquest.
Modern day Benagalbon is conveniently close to the golf course at Añoreta, 18 holes, and the coastal towns of Rincon de La Victoria and La Cala del Moral as well as the new motorway on which the airport can be reached in less than an hour.
The village is within the municipality of Rincon de La Victoria and is only a short drive north from this very popular coastal town with its well known beach restaurants. The bars and restaurants of Benagalbon also offers the visitor a variety of delicious local dishes.
