Benajarafe Benajarafe Beach
Property sale

Benajarafe is a municipal district in the east coast of Malaga. It has a population of 3,424 inhabitants.
The biggest part of its population is living on the coast. There is an inland part of the town as well known as Benajarafe Alto (High Benajarafe), where there are several groups of houses and cottages.
Benajarafe is a quiet resort in winter and a choice for many people in summer to enjoy the tranquility of its beach. Nowadays, however, most of the population live on the coast, where individual developments have increased over recent years.
It is not as developed as the other part of Málaga and Costa del Sol, being this one of the reasons for many people to have their half a years residence in Benajarafe.
Among the services you can find in this place is a big supermarket, petrol station, garden center and numerous fish restaurants.
The main feature of the village is a large, flat sandy beach, that extends for more than two kilometres.
Between the houses and the beach is the main road. For decades, the busy N-340 has passed through Benajarafe, with its large volume of traffic and consequent problems.
Fortunately, the new by-pass, built some kilometres inland, has greatly reduced the amount of traffic, ensuring also a reduction of accidents and noise pollution.
The proximity of the Añoreta 18 holes golf course, just 3 Km far from Benajarafe makes this place a good choice for many to live in.
The main attraction of the area is the large beach, with its fine sand and lack of pollution. This is only really crowded in August and is almost deserted for the rest of the year. The beach runs the full length of Benajarafe, some two kilometres and is as much as one hundred meters wide in places.
The beach is maintained to a high level of cleanliness. Duckboard paths allow easy access. Showers and foot fountains are provided. Numerous litterbins are dotted along the sand. Undoubtedly though, the outstanding feature of this beach is its natural, unspoilt beauty and panoramic views.
If you feel like finding a little nightlife, there are many varied restaurants in Torre Del Mar (15 minutes drive away) where discotheques overlooking the Mediterranean have a certain magic. Puerto Niza Beach Club & Restaurant just outside the village, is the place for a romantic dinner under the stars.
A wide variety of sports await those seeking an active holiday. Sailing, jetskis, fishing, Aqua Park, and Go Karting are all available nearby, together with riding and trekking in the hills, and of course golf. Windsurfing and subaqua are available in Nerja.
