Cajiz Village of Cajíz
Cajíz is a small village in Axarquía (Málaga). It is a quiet place to live, 5 km to the coast and to the conventional road N-340.
This small town with a population of 636 inhabitants is situated at 175 metres above sea level. The town has grown around the church of San José which was built in the 18th century. It is near the village of Iznate and depends typically on the produce harvested from its orchards and market gardens. Apart from the traditional crops however there are plantations of avocados around the town.
The houses are mainly one storey with the classical red roof tiles. For the needs of the visitor there are two bars and a restaurant.
There is a good and quiet beach just 5 km from the village.
The town of Vélez-Málaga is close, just 7 km driving, where there is everything one could need: Hospital, hypermarket, supermarkets, cinemas, shops, theatre, parks, etc.
Málaga airport: 30 km.
